Park Defeats Ikeyama to Remain IFBA Strawweight Title
On a hot humid afternoon in Kosung Kangwon-do, South Korea, regaining IFBA Strawweight Champion Ji Hyun Park defeated Japan’s Nao Ikeyama to retain her title. Park carried all three judges cards with scores of 97--94, 97-95 and 97-95. The 10 round championship bout was the 13th win for Park, who now boasts an impressive 13-2-0 record. The near capacity crowd of women’s boxing fans, cheered Park repeatedly throughout the contest and applauded both fighters effort at the conclusion.
