Elena “Baby Doll” Reid took the IFBA Flyweight title from champion Shin Hee Choi by unanimous decision in front of 1200 appreciative fans Monday night July 2nd at the Pechanga Resort and Casino. Reid dominated the Korean Champion Choi with combinations and speed and showed why she is amongst the elite in the sport. IFBA Featherweight Champion Kelsey Jeffries, had to go 10 rounds to defend her crown against a tough Donna “Country Girl” Biggers. Biggers proved to a tough competitor and with former IFBA champion Mia St. John in her corner, she showed grit and determination through out the fight much to the delight of the crowd. It was war from the opening bell and Terri Blair and Chevelle Hallback had them on their feet for 8 rounds as the two showed why women’s boxing is the most entertaining sport in the world.  After 8 rounds Hallback won a tough decision and had nothing but praise for her opponent. All 3 fights can be seen Thursday, July 12th on the Best Damn Sports Show Period on FSN. Check you local listings for channel and time. All photos courtesy of Mary Ann Owen, copyright Mary Ann Owen.
