New IFBA Champions Named in Incheon City

Danbi Kim and Hyomin Kim both captured vacant IFBA titles in front of over 5,000 fans in Incheon City, South Korea on October 15. Danbi Kim defeated Joelene Blackshear by scores of 97-94, 96-94 and 96-94 for the vacant 105 pound IFBA Mini Flyweight title and Hyomin Kim defeated Lisa Brown 96-94, 96-95 and 96-95 to claim the vacant 126 IFBA Featherweight crown. Both Joelene Blackshear and Lisa Brown have requested reviews of the fight by the IFBA for formal protests to the Korean Boxing Commission (KBC). IFBA President, Judy Kulis has asked for the fights to be reviewed immediately and tapes from the nationally televised fights will be sent to the KBC for their review of the judging.
