IFBA to Review Incheon City Results
Statement by IFBA President Judy Kulis
on the Oct. 15 IFBA boxing matches held in South Korea.
“The IFBA will file a formal protest on behalf of Jolene Blackshear and Lisa Brown over the questionable outcomes delivered by judges after their respective bouts on Oct. 15 in South Korea. The IFBA is committed to fair and equal judging throughout the world and the results from both bouts are clearly open to review.
Although the IFBA has not yet received an official letter of protest from either fighter’s camp, the IFBA exists to ensure the fights it sanctions are above reproach and will act of its own accord. The IFBA will be sending tapes and detailed reports to the Korean Boxing Commission (KBC) with a request for immediate attention to the matter.
The IFBA, and women’s boxing, has always been treated fairly and with high regard in South Korea, and I anticipate a fair and impartial review by the KBC.”
