EUN YOUNG HUH BECOMES IFBA NEWEST CHAMPION
On November 9, 2007, in Dae Jeong, an hour outside of Seoul, the first contender for the Mini Flyweight World title stepped onto the scale. Eun Young Huh of South Korea seemed to easily make the 105 pd limit. Her opponent Il Lim Jun out of China, tipped the scale a 1/2 pound over on her first attempt. After about a half hour Il LIm stepped back onto the scale and hit the 105 pound mark.
In an outdoor event, Promoter Shin Woon-Chul, put together a 7 bout boxing card with local Korean Boxers and 2 fighters via China in a televised event. Starting off with five - 4 rounders, a 6 and then in the Main event, 10 rounds for the vacant IFBA 105 pd Mini Flyweight World title.
The first round was a tentative feeling out process, but as the fight progressed Eun Young Huh began to show more consistency in winning the judges scorecards. In the 7th round both fighters received a point deduction for excessive holding which had been consistent for most of the middle rounds. In the 10th round Il Lim rallied winning two of the judges votes, but it would not change the final unanimous decision given to Eun Young Huh of South Korea. Judges final scores: 93-95, 94-97, 95-96
