A DETERMINED CHOI COMES BACK WITH A VENGEANCE

Looking for redemption after losing her bid to become the IFBA Flyweight Champion back in September against Maribel Zurita, Shin Hee Choi knocked out the Philippine’s Marisha Allard in the 1st round of a scheduled 8 round contest on Saturday, Nov 28, 2004 in Kohyang, Korea. The 21 year old Korean boxer’s comeback fight lasted only 44 seconds, as she KO’d her opponent with a flurry of punches.

Choi started off fast with left jabs, forcing her opponent into a corner immediately, and quickly finished her off with a vicious right.

Now, Choi wants a rematch with Zurita. “I know I can bring the Flyweight title back to Korea if Zurita is not afraid to give me another shot” said Choi. “Not having faced International competition before hurt me in the first fight, but now that I know Zurita and made short work of Allard, I know what to expect and how to handle a second chance” continued Choi.

While rumors circulate that Zurita may be looking at a title defense in Asia in March against another fighter, Choi wouldn’t mind going up against Mariana Juarez either, as avenging In-Young Lee’s loss just might get her the stardom and respect she yearns for.
